Digital India’ campaign could prop Indian govt spending on IT to $7.2 bn by 2015

The Digital India initiative is expected to boost the government IT spending and it is expected to grow five per cent and reach $7.2 billion in 2015. Within this the category of government spending on software will total $788 million in 2014 and reach $910 million in 2015.

New opportunities will be created as a result of the governments focus on expanding broadband penetration, accelerating digitization of core government processes, leveraging mobility to engage the citizens, cloud initiatives and public private partnership.
