India receives $15.7 billion proposal for electronics manufacturing

Speaking at an International Chamber of Commerce event, Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad proclaimed that the country has received investment proposals of over $15 billion in the last fifteen months for electronics manufacturing under the Modified Special Incentive Package Scheme (MSIPS). He further stated that the Digital India programme is designed to bridge the divide between the digital haves and have-nots and the programme is politics neutral, ideology neutral and centre-state neutral.
