Smart city project: Japanese tech firm NEC wants to partner at least 20 cities

Japanese conglomerate NEC has showed interest in Indian government’s ‘Smart City’ project by collaborating in at least 20 cities. Since the policy for this ambitious project is yet to get finalised, the company won’t be able to operationalise their plans at this stage. The company will offer solutions for security of a city, biometrics and those related to energy, transport, logistics and environment, depending on individual cities’ requirements.
