Tel Aviv to help India create ‘smart cities’

The city of Tel Aviv has announced to tie up with India to help with urban transformation in the Indian cities of Pune, Nagpur and Nashik. In collaboration with the Mumbai-based NGO Delivering Change Foundation (DCF), Israeli representatives are slated to mentor, train, consult and escort Indian city officials with technological urban transformation. The citizens of the three cities will be provided Tel Aviv’s DigiTel pass that will allow them to pay water and municipal tax bills, order parking permits, use citywide WiFi, digital city services, and GPS-based smartphone apps.
