Speaking at the third Express IT Awards in Bengaluru, Union communications and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that ‘Digital India’ has been designed to bridge the digital divide and announced that his ministry is dedicated to promote the mission. He further stated that as many as 18 states had come forward to help digitise 250,000 gram panchayats and added that 156,000 post offices across the country are expected to be digitised soon.
